Growing Season
Our small lot of Sangiovese was produced from the original Brunello di Montalcino clone – known for small berries and intense flavors. 2023 was spectacular at Andrews Family Vineyards: while spring set records for cool temperatures, leaving our site two to three weeks behind normal, Mother Nature changed course in May. Temperatures picked up and the skies brightened, providing ample sunshine and warm temperatures which translated to perfect ripening weather for our north slope Sangiovese.

Cellaring
Vibrant, accessible, and drinks well now, but it will continue to develop over the next 10 years or more. The care we put into crafting and bottling our wines creates a fresh approachable experience when consumed young, while simultaneously containing the components necessary to develop deep complexity and integration with age.
Vinification
A New World take on Sangiovese—vinified with 7% whole clusters in a Nico Velo concrete pyramid. Following an extensive 108-hour cold soak, we utilized a cool, extended fermentation to develop deep color and refined, silky tannins. The wine was then aged for 16 months in new French Dargaud & Jaeglé 400L barrels, sourced from the Forest of Jupilles.
